This project involved developing a custom camera device equipped with a Single Pair Ethernet interface and Power over Dataline option, tailored for underwater filming applications and compatible with ONVIF profile S.

Client & Challenge
Our client is a prominent player in the diving equipment manufacturing sector. The primary challenge was to develop a replacement for their existing analog cameras, which suffered from poor video quality. The new solution needed to deliver superior digital video quality and operate effectively over a one-kilometer signal cable.
Solution
We engineered a completely new camera hardware from the ground up, ensuring compatibility with existing underwater housings for easy replacement of the outdated analog cameras. This new camera handles both video streams and power via a single twisted pair cable that can extend up to one kilometer specifically designed for underwater use. Our development team implemented a driver for the Sony Starvis 2 image sensor and developed software capable of streaming video encoded with the h265 codec. Additionally, the camera’s support for ONVIF S technology ensures broad compatibility with various multimedia systems.
